Fort Hood’s Earth Fest and Month of the Military Child event is scheduled for April 27, at 79th St. Gate, and will be offering educational and fun opportunities for children, Families, and Soldiers. More than 30 different exhibits will be on display including recycling, renewable energy resources, endangered species, natural resources, water conservation, and other environmental topics.
This year’s event will be non-stop from 3:30 - 8:30 p.m. and will kick off with a performance by the Renegades Band. It will also include inflatables, arts and crafts, a teen zone, and live entertainment. Games 2U mobile game theater will be at the event featuring the latest Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii games on 6 high definition televisions. Zoomagination will also do a special exotic animal show at 5:00 p.m. featuring a two-toed sloth, wallaby, bearded dragon, snake, parrot, and creepy crawlies.
The rest of the evening will feature live entertainment by the Shoemaker High School Pandemonium Steel Drums Band and Lighter Ray Band.
